PROJECTS:

PROJECT: THE MALICIOUS POISONING OF PETS FOR CRIMINAL PURPOSES

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

The crime-driven poisoning of pets and guard dogs to access property is a disturbing and often malicious act that poses significant risks to both animals and humans.

This nefarious tactic is employed by
individuals with malicious intent who
seek to gain unauthorised access to a property for various criminal activities such as burglary, theft, vandalism, or even more serious offences.

SIGNS OF POSSIBLE POISONING:
• Be vigilant for any unusual behaviour or symptoms in your pet
that may indicate poisoning.
• Common signs of poisoning include:
o Vomiting.
o Diarrhoea.
o Drooling.
o Seizures.
o Lethargy.
o Difficulty breathing.
o Tremors.
o Fainting/Collapsing.

Contact Your Veterinarian Immediately:
Time is of the essence in cases of pet poisoning. Contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency veterinary clinic
immediately for guidance and assistance. Provide them with as much information as possible, including the type of poison, the
quantity ingested (if known), and any
observed symptoms.

PROJECT: INSURANCE FRAUD AND ITS CONSEQUENCES

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Repercussions of insurance fraud in South Africa can be significant and can include:
Legal Consequences:
Insurance fraud is a criminal offence in South Africa, and perpetrators can face severe legal repercussions, including fines, imprisonment, or both. The country’s legal system actively prosecutes individuals involved in fraudulent activities, and law enforcement agencies collaborate with insurance companies to investigate and prosecute fraud cases.
Financial Losses:
Insurance fraud imposes significant financial losses on insurance companies, ultimately affecting honest policyholders through increased premiums and reduced coverage. Fraudulent claims drain insurers’ resources, leading to higher operating costs and decreased profitability.
Damage to Reputation:
Individuals involved in insurance fraud risk damaging
their reputations and credibility within their communities
and the broader society.
Being associated with fraudulent activities can have long-lasting consequences on personal and professional relationships, making it difficult to rebuild trust.
• Impact on Society:
Insurance fraud undermines the integrity of the insurance
industry and erodes public trust in the system. It contributes to higher insurance premiums for all policyholders and undermines efforts to combat fraud
and promote fair and transparent insurance practices.

PROJECT: EXTREME ONLINE STALKING

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Online stalking activity has drastically increased with the rise of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok,
X (formerly Twitter), Snapchat, and
WhatsApp. Unfortunately, these platforms have become playgrounds for stalkers to gather information on their targets.

It is crucial to be aware of this growing issue and take precautions to protect oneself from potential harm.

WHAT TO DO WHEN A STALKER TARGETS YOU:
• Avoid talking to the stalker at all costs.
• An online stalker relies on conversation to deliver a message to
the victim.
• When you realise a conversation is moving in an unwanted
direction, end the conversation and block the profile or number
on all platforms.
• If you continue to receive unsolicited messages or calls, block
the profile or number, but keep all the prior messages and call
logs on your device.
• Visit your local police station with your device in hand and
report the incident.
• Stalkers often hide their identity well; in that case, you might
need to appoint a professional private investigator who
specialises in Cybercrime investigations to assist with the
investigation.
• Avoid online dating websites entirely and talking to people you
do not know.
• Online dating websites and chat sites are a breeding ground
for scams, fraudsters and stalkers.

PROJECT: CRIMES RESULTING FROM PORNOGRAPHY

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Mr Mike Bolhuis continuously warns against the spirit of debauchery and lust that lies behind this addiction and how it can ruin a person’s life.

Our initial project warning
against addiction to pornography is
essential for more context: https://mikebh.link/rvTM9g

Crimes resulting from pornography can vary widely in nature and impact, and it is essential to differentiate between the
consumption of pornography itself and the criminal acts that may stem from it.

While pornography itself is not
inherently criminal, it can contribute to a range of illegal activities and harmful behaviours when it involves exploitation, violence, or non-consensual acts.

Addressing the criminal aspects of
pornography requires a multi-faceted approach that encompasses law enforcement, prevention efforts, education, and support
for victims.

PROJECT: PERSON OF INTEREST - KYLE JARDINE

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

THE CASE:
In November 2022, our client met Kyle Jardine at a supplement
store in Randburg. They became friends and started going to the gym together. Kyle informed our client that he sells steroids and other
supplements.

In May 2023, our client started receiving phone calls from
private numbers. This was a so-called police officer indicating that someone had opened a criminal case against him and Kyle for selling
steroids.

Our client had to pay R50,000.00 for the case opened against
them to “disappear.” He further alleged that Kyle was in custody and would be released once the money was paid.

Our client paid the money into Kyle’s bank account. A few days later, Kyle contacted our client and said he had
been released.

In June 2023, the threats and extortion of our client
continued. The money had to be paid into Kyle’s bank account every
time. The extortion continued, and our client was threatened and
extorted by the so-called police officer again. Private numbers were no longer used, and a cell phone number was identified.

The total amount extorted exceeded R600,000.00.

PROJECT: THE DANGERS OF PORNOGRAPHY

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Decades of studies have shown that
pornography can have negative impacts on both sexual and mental health as well as on society as a whole.

It is a fact that people spend a significant amount of their waking hours online, which can be more than 40%. We engage in
activities like watching Netflix shows, scrolling through social media feeds, and sharing memes with friends.

Every piece of content we consume
has a message, and it affects us
in some way. The media we consume
online is not just passively consumed and quickly forgotten.

Studies have shown that
it can have both positive and negative effects on us, ranging from poorer mental health to negative body image.

Therefore, we must be aware of what we consume online and how it affects us. One such example is pornography, which is
consumed by a significant number of people. According to estimates, more than 91.5% of men and 60.2% of women consume porn.

PROJECT: ACCIDENTAL POISONING OF CHILDREN

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Accidental poisoning is common,
especially among toddlers aged
between one and 3 years.

Children naturally explore their environment as part of their developmental process.
They familiarise themselves with new objects and activities through play and imitation, often
putting things in their mouths.

Accidental ingestion, skin contact, eye exposure, or inhalation of poisonous substances can lead to
poisoning. Due to their limited understanding of safety hazards, young children may not discern
between safe and dangerous items.

It is crucial for caregivers to ensure a safe home environment and not rely solely on verbal warnings about potential dangers.

If there is suspicion of a child being exposed to poison or receiving incorrect medication or
dosage, immediate action is imperative. Contact the nearest medical professional for guidance
without waiting for symptoms to manifest.

PROJECT: KIDNAPPINGS IN SOUTH AFRICA

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

The increasing rate of kidnappings in
South Africa raises concerns about public safety, law enforcement effectiveness, and the protection of human rights. Addressing this issue requires a comprehensive approach involving law enforcement agencies, government institutions, community organisations, and international cooperation to prevent
kidnappings, prosecute perpetrators,
and support victims. Additionally, efforts to address the root causes of kidnapping, such as poverty, inequality, and social instability,
are essential for long-term solutions.

Mr Mike Bolhuis is especially concerned about the alarming trend of false kidnapping reports and misinformation. It is a fact that
people report false kidnappings for various reasons, including seeking attention, financial gain, or revenge.

Specialised Security Services has seen a sharp increase in such cases, leading to the misuse of emergency resources, which is unacceptable. The dissemination of
misinformation only fuels unwarranted fear and delays responses to actual emergencies, putting public safety in jeopardy.

It is imperative that decisive action is taken to put an end to this dangerous trend.

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

In a bid to safeguard the public from falling prey to financial scams, South Africa’s premier cyber investigation team, spearheaded by Mr Mike Bolhuis of Specialised Security Services, has launched a thorough investigation into a potentially massive Ponzi scheme.

Nearly 3000 concerned individuals have already reached out for assistance. The scheme in question purportedly operates under the guise of RNI Aquaculture, promising
substantial returns on investment through aquatic product processing.

Promoters of the scheme tout a seemingly lucrative opportunity where investors share in
profits derived from the sale of processed aquatic products, purportedly exported to
Europe, Asia, and beyond.

PROJECT: THE HIDDEN DANGERS OF ONLINE GAMING FOR UNDERAGE PLAYERS

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

As online gaming continues to soar in popularity, concerns regarding the safety of underage players within virtual environments
have escalated. While gaming offers a plethora of benefits, including cognitive development and social interaction, there are inherent risks, particularly in private
chatrooms.

Specialised Security Services feels compelled to shed light on these dangers and offer guidance for parents and guardians.

As the digital landscape evolves, it is
imperative to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding the welfare of underage gamers.

By fostering a culture of responsible gaming and prioritising online safety, we can mitigate the risks posed by private chatrooms and
empower children to navigate virtual
environments with confidence and resilience.

Let us strive to strike a balance between screen time and physical activity, ensuring the
holistic well-being of our youth in an
increasingly interconnected world.

PROJECT: CRIMINALS TARGETING CHURCHES

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Churches and religious institutions are not exempt from criminal activity. Criminals exploit any opportunity and are motivated
by the perceived ease of committing crimes without repercussions.
Like any regular business, churches and similar organisations should prioritise safety and security measures.

Churches must acknowledge that they are potential targets. They need to be vigilant and understand that societal attitudes have
shifted, rendering religious institutions no longer immune to criminal activity, which is
driven primarily by greed.

Overall, the impact of crime on churchgoers in South Africa extends beyond immediate
physical damage or loss. It can erode trust, disrupt community life, and undermine the sense of safety and well-being within congregations.

PROJECT: MALE SUICIDES IN SOUTH AFRICA

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

According to a recent news article, a
psychologist noted that among the patients he encountered on the verge of suicide in 2023,
“no less than 70% are males”.

This alarming trend of male suicides is on the rise in South Africa, exposing the country’s
forced patriarchy where men are expected to be strong and women vulnerable. Shockingly,
South Africa ranks 10th on the list of
countries with the highest number of suicides, with 13,774 suicides reported in 2022, of which 10,861 were men.

Men are five times more likely to die from suicide than women,
and the main factors contributing to suicide among men are unemployment, childhood
trauma, and relationship issues.

Moreover, financial difficulties, where a man is unable to provide for his family, also stood out as one of the reasons for male suicides.

Sexual orientation issues, illness (mental and physical), and drug abuse were among the
other reasons for suicide.

This trend can be attributed to a combination of social, cultural, and economic factors that
disproportionately affect men in South African society. It is high time that we address this issue head-on and take steps towards
ensuring that men’s mental health is given the attention and care it deserves.

PROJECT: ADULT BULLYING

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Bullying is a serious issue that can have a devastating impact on individuals, regardless
of age. Despite the common misconception that bullying is limited to school settings,
adult bullying is all too common in
today’s world.

The outcomes of adult bullying can be as severe as those experienced by children, causing anxiety, fear, depression, and
lowered confidence and self-esteem.

Individuals must harness courage and determination when confronting adult bullies, whether in the workplace or at home. By documenting incidents, confronting the bully, and seeking support from trusted sources, one can take proactive steps towards resolution.

Understanding rights, both in the workplace and within personal relationships, empowers
individuals to stand up against bullying behaviours. Whether through internal channels or external resources, addressing
the issue with a clear sense of boundaries and
self-preservation is paramount.

By advocating for oneself and seeking assistance when needed, individuals not only assert their own dignity but also contribute to
fostering healthier, more respectful
environments for all involved.

PROJECT: PHOTO MANIPULATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Photo manipulation refers to the process of altering or enhancing a photograph using digital editing software to create
deceptive or misleading images.

When used to create false or sensational posts on social media, photo manipulation
can have significant consequences, including spreading misinformation, manipulating public opinion, and damaging reputations.

To mitigate the spread of false or sensational posts on social media, users must exercise
critical thinking and scepticism when
encountering visual content.

This includes verifying the authenticity of images, cross-referencing information with
credible sources, and being cautious of posts that seem overly sensational or emotionally
manipulative.

Additionally, social media platforms can play a role in combating photo manipulation by implementing measures to detect and flag
manipulated content, educating users about the risks of misinformation, and promoting
digital literacy and fact-checking initiatives.

PROJECT: PERSON OF INTEREST TREVOR BOTHA

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

SSS reiterates the importance of extensive vetting and comprehensive research before committing to any financial transaction.

PROJECT: TO TAP OR NOT TO TAP

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

In an age where convenience often trumps caution, pausing and considering the potential
risks lurking behind seemingly innocuous actions is crucial.

As highlighted by security
expert Mr Mike Bolhuis, one such action is handing over your debit or credit card to shopkeepers during transactions.

The convenience of tapping a card for payment has undoubtedly revolutionised how we handle our finances. However, this ease of use comes with vulnerabilities,
particularly concerning the security of our sensitive card information.

Specialised Security Services emphasises a critical point: when you hand over your card to a shopkeeper, you unwittingly expose crucial details, including the CCV number on the back of your card. With access to your card number and other pertinent account details, nefarious individuals can easily perpetrate fraudulent activities. Adding another layer of concern is the prevalence of surveillance cameras at cash points.

In light of these potential threats, we strongly recommend a more secure approach: activating the tap option on your card while ensuring that you always input a PIN for verification. This simple yet effective measure adds a barrier against unauthorised access, significantly reducing the likelihood of falling victim to fraud.

PROJECT: CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND PHOTO MANIPULATION

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Specialised Security Services was
recently contacted by the concerned
parents of a 15-year-old girl who
fell victim to photo manipulation
by a group of boys in her age group.

By the time the girl and her parents
were made aware of what was going on, the situation had escalated from photo manipulation to extortion, where the girl was being blackmailed into sending explicit photos of herself to an unknown party on social media.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CHILDREN ON SOCIAL MEDIA:
• Always report unsolicited conversations or content on social
media to your parents.
• Avoid posting photos of yourself on social media.
• Avoid entering adult chat sites.
• Never engage in conversation with unidentified parties on social media.
• When posting photos on social media, make sure that the
background content does not reveal personal information about
yourself, such as your address, contact information, personal
credentials, etc.
• Keep a close friend circle on social media.
• Only include people you know and trust.
• Do not take part in the sharing or distributing of explicit content.
• Think before you do and remember that the internet is permanent.
• Clean up your phone of any unwanted content, keep it clean
and keep the content protected.

PROJECT: THE WATER OR TANKER MAFIA

URGENT UPDATE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

South Africa’s infrastructure has been teetering on the verge of collapse. Our water supply is a serious concern.

Rand Water, which supplies household water to Gauteng, has directly attributed the water shortage crisis to municipal mismanagement and inadequate
capacity. The issue is the lack of municipal action
to address the deteriorating water
infrastructure.

The basic services that
people of South Africa are entitled to receive – access to clean water, sanitation, electricity, refuse
removal services, public transport and good roads – cannot be delivered without adequate
infrastructure.

The National Treasury has decided to
address municipalities such as Tshwane and Johannesburg by notifying both municipalities of its
intention to cut a combined R1.83bn for grants, signalling that it is getting tough on errant municipalities.

This is a national crisis exasperated by continued loadshedding. Mismanagement has created a breeding ground for criminals,
including the Water or Tanker Mafia.
As always, crime begets crime.
This vicious cycle of inefficiency, mismanagement, corruption, and theft is increasing at an exponential rate.

PROJECT: CRYPTO GURUS

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

HOW TO AVOID
CRYPTO INVESTMENT SCAMS IN
THE DIGITAL AGE

The rapid rise of cryptocurrency has opened doors to both opportunity and exploitation.

While the potential for significant returns is undeniable, the decentralised nature of the market also creates fertile ground for bad actors.

One such threat is the “Crypto Guru”—a seemingly authoritative online personality promising a shortcut to crypto riches.
Crypto Gurus typically cultivate an image of expertise. They leverage social media platforms like YouTube, Telegram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram to advertise
content overflowing with technical jargon, market predictions, and testimonials. This facade of knowledge stimulates trust and
a sense of community, making them appear credible to those new to the crypto world.

The scam unfolds in a calculated manner. Once trust is established, the Guru subtly shifts focus towards specific cryptocurrencies. They will claim these coins’ supposedly
hidden potential or limited availability, creating a “pump” (a surge in demand that drives up the price). This orchestrated hype often
attracts a significant following,
further inflating the bubble.

PROJECT: BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Biometric Authentication is a security measure that relies on unique physical or behavioural characteristics to identify individuals.

Biometric authentication systems
can identify a person’s facial features, fingerprints, voice, and even DNA.

These unique traits are stored in
a database, and when an individual
tries to access a system or data,
their biometric information is compared with the information in the database.

Biometric Authentication provides a higher level of security and convenience than traditional authentication methods. However,
it also has disadvantages, such as privacy concerns, false positives, and high costs.

Therefore, it is essential to carefully
consider the advantages and disadvantages of Biometric Authentication before
implementing it in any system or application.

PROJECT: CARD SKIMMING ON THE INCREASE IN SOUTH AFRICA

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

SSS reminds everyone to be vigilant when making payments. Please refer to a previous project highlighting this danger:
https://mikebh.link/L5yWtC

Card skimming is a form of theft in which criminals use small devices called skimmers to illegally collect data from the magnetic strip of a credit or debit card.

These skimming devices are often
discreetly installed on legitimate
card readers, such as ATMs, gas station pumps, or point-of-sale terminals. When a card is swiped or inserted into the compromised device, the skimmer captures the card’s magnetic strip data,
including the card number, expiration date,
and sometimes even the cardholder’s name.

By staying vigilant and taking proactive measures to protect your card information, you can reduce the risk of being a victim of card skimming and safeguard
your financial security.

PROJECT: CORRUPTION IN SOUTH AFRICA

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

The 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) shows that corruption is thriving across the world.

The CPI ranks 180 countries and territories around the globe by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, scoring on a scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). Denmark maintains its position as the least corrupt country with a score of 90, while Somalia tops the list as the most corrupt with a score of 11.

South Africa rates a 41 on this
scale, and our country’s CPI score has markedly declined over the past five years.

Corruption generally refers to the abuse of entrusted power for personal gain or to gain
an undue advantage.

It involves dishonest or unethical conduct by individuals, often in positions of authority,
who use their influence for personal benefit, leading to a deviation from the proper or fair course of action.

PROJECT: THE DANGERS LURKING IN OLD CELL PHONES - PROTECTING YOUR DATA

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

In our fast-paced digital age, upgrading to the latest cell phone model has become a routine.

But what happens to our old devices once they’re replaced? Many end up forgotten in drawers, sold second-hand, or worse, discarded without a second thought.

However, these seemingly harmless actions can pose significant dangers, especially when old cell phones fall into the wrong hands –
the hands of cybercriminals.

By following safe disposal practices and taking proactive steps to protect your personal data, you can mitigate the risks of cybercrime and safeguard your digital identity.

Remember, your data’s security is in
your hands, even after you have bid

PROJECT: EXOTIC PETS IN SOUTH AFRICA

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Specialised Security Services receives numerous requests for intervention in cases where exotic pets are no longer wanted, or have been neglected, abused, or put in danger.

It is common for people to purchase
exotic animals on impulse, without
considering the impact it will have
on both the animals themselves and the households responsible for their care.

It is imperative to consider the decision before bringing an exotic pet into your home, as the temptation of having a unique
creature can be alluring.

Responsible ownership demands
comprehensive deliberation and preparation.

Responsible ownership not only involves adherence to legal requirements but also a
commitment to meeting the unique needs of these creatures while ensuring their well-being and the preservation of local ecosystems.

PROJECT: BUSINESS SABOTAGE

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

A recent study has shown that
increasingly more South African
companies experience business sabotage at least once every 24 months.

How is Business Sabotage Defined?

Business sabotage occurs when
an individual commits a specific act of harm to a company. On hearing the term “business sabotage”, one might be inclined to think of it as an act committed by someone from outside the business, like a
competitor. However, in most cases,
acts of business sabotage are initiated by employees from within a business.

SSS Specialist Investigators can help with employee sabotage situations.

SSS will record all findings and collate them into a comprehensive, detailed report that is fully supported by documentary
evidence and is admissible in court.

It is our goal to provide you with
everything you need to prove and
pursue your case – either in a civil
matter or prosecuted as a crime.
This can go a long way to ensuring
that your trust in other employees
remains unshaken by the actions of
the culprit, which means your
business can get back on track.

PROJECT: SOUTH AFRICAN GANGS

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

South Africa has faced challenges related to gang activity, particularly in urban areas where socio-economic factors, unemployment, and inequality contribute to the formation and perpetuation of gangs.

Urban centres are often battlegrounds for gang wars, with drug trade, territorial disputes, and violence being commonplace.

These profoundly affect community life and safety. Cities like Cape Town are significantly affected, seeing South Africa occupy the top 5 most dangerous cities in Africa.

It is important to recognise that not all community members support or protect gangs, and many individuals and organisations actively work to address the root causes of gang involvement.

Community-based initiatives, social
development programs, and collaboration between law enforcement and communities
are essential components of efforts to break the cycle of gang-related
issues in South Africa.

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Specialised Security Services is fully committed to addressing the pressing issue of increasing crime rates in South Africa. Therefore, we are taking a proactive approach to highlight this complex issue and implementing measures to ensure the safety and security of our clients and their properties.

The recently released data for the fourth quarter of 2023 paints a grim picture, with 11.6 million South Africans now unemployed,

PROJECT: SOUTH AFRICAN BANKS AND ACCOUNTABILITY

NOTICE TO

THE PUBLIC!

Recent events have underscored the
urgent need for accountability and
robust security measures within

and share their experiences.

By uniting in our demand for
accountability, we can effect
meaningful change that prioritises the safety and welfare of all banking customers.

PROJECT: THE DANGERS OF DRINK SPIKING

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

“Spiking drinks” refers to the act of
adding substances, typically drugs or
alcohol, to someone’s beverage
without their knowledge or consent.
This can occur in social settings, parties, or bars and is often done with the intention of incapacitating or taking advantage of the person who consumes the spiked drink.

The substances used for spiking can
include illicit drugs, sedatives,
date rape drugs, or even additional
amounts of alcohol.

Remember that being vigilant and proactive can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to drink spiking.

If you suspect someone has been a victim, seek medical attention and report the incident
to the appropriate authorities.

Drink spiking is illegal and goes hand in hand with rape, abuse, sexual assault and violence.

Unfortunately, it is often seen as a minor offence rather than a serious violation of a person’s safety.

PROJECT: SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN IN THE AGE OF CELL PHONES

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

Children are vulnerable to online predators who may exploit
their innocence.
Educating children about safe online behaviour, not sharing
personal information, and avoiding contact with strangers is
crucial. Cyberbullying is another risk.
Parents should monitor their children’s online interactions and
encourage open communication.

Geotagged photos or social media posts can reveal a child’s
location. Parents should disable geotagging features and discuss privacy settings with their children.

Children may accidentally stumble upon inappropriate content,
including violence, explicit material, or harmful ideologies.
Parental controls and age-appropriate filters can help mitigate
this risk.

If you are concerned that your child’s
cell phone has been compromised,
contact Mr Bolhuis immediately.

The SSS Specialist Cyberteam is
at the forefront of new technological
innovation and will be able to safeguard and monitor your child’s phone.

It is essential to be aware of the information you share online and how it contributes to your digital footprint.

Managing your online presence, adjusting privacy settings, and being cautious about the content you post can help you control
and protect your digital image.

Safeguarding your digital image is essential for maintaining privacy, preventing identity theft, managing your reputation, enhancing
online security, reducing the risk of
harassment, and minimizing the impact of targeted advertising.

PROJECT: EMAIL INTERCEPT SCAMS ON THE RISE

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

Increasingly more businesses are falling victim to the “man in the middle” email intercept attacks that have been on the rise over the past few years.

Email interception is not only a simple matter of someone
gaining access to your email login details, and then using your
email account to contact someone else, it is far more complex.

Think of email interception as having a one-on-one conversation with someone employing a third party to do the actual speaking whilst parties 1 and 2 write down what
message party 3 should deliver to the other party.

This sounds like a game we used to play as children, the only difference is that in these instances, party 3 is a criminal with malicious plans of delivering his own version of the message to the other two parties.

If you are concerned that your electronic devices have been compromised,
contact Mr Bolhuis immediately.

The SSS Specialist Cyberteam are
at the forefront of new technological innovations and will be able to safeguard and monitor them.

PROJECT: INVESTMENT SCAMMER RUDOLPH JOHANNES PETRUS DE MEYER

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

In recent months, our cyber team at
Specialised Security Services has uncovered a disturbing pattern of investment scams orchestrated by Rudolph Johannes Petrus
De Meyer, also known as Rudi.

Born on February 11, 1980, Rudi has been operating under the guise of various investment companies, luring unsuspecting
victims into fraudulent schemes with promises of lucrative returns.

Our investigation, which started in October 2023, unequivocally
identified Mr De Meyer as the mastermind behind these
deceptive “investment opportunities.”

When confronted by the SSS cyberteam, Rudi admitted to
misappropriating funds from our clients and pledged to repay
every cent.

His plea for leniency and appeals to humanity fell flat when he
failed to meet our conditions.

WE URGE THE PUBLIC TO REMAIN VIGILANT!

PUBLIC!

Specialised Security Services receives more and more requests from various mines and construction
companies to secure and safeguard
their premises, their assets and their employees.

Please read our latest project

South Africa typically refers to
criminal groups or individuals involved in extortion and other illicit activities within the construction industry.

These groups are often accused of
demanding protection
money from construction companies
in exchange for allowing them to
operate in specific areas.

These criminal organisations
masquerade as legitimate
business associations,
operating nationwide and
constantly expanding into

cost the economy around
R68 billion

for our immediate attention.

It is important to keep in mind that you might be threatened or intimidated to NOT open cases and
NOT to send the cases to our organisation.

PROJECT: SEXTORTION OF MINORS

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

URGENT WARNING TO
PARENTS:
Many parents believe that their children will not fall victim to this serious crime.

Sexual extortion, or “sextortion”,
occurs when an individual is coerced
into providing money or sexual images through a threat to release sexual or nude photos or videos of them online.

Parents should not underestimate the age at which children become vulnerable, as many are as young as 8.

Sextortion does not discriminate and it can affect any child or young person, whether a boy or a girl, from any ethnic or socioeconomic group.

The only common denominator
these children share is internet access.

Educating children about online safety has never been more crucial.

If you suspect your child’s devices have been compromised or that your child might have become a victim of sextortion, contact
Mr Bolhuis immediately.

concerning trend of false reporting of  kidnappings, leading to the misuse of resources and significant consequences for both law enforcement agencies and
innocent individuals.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is often at the forefront of responding to these reports, but the impact of false reporting cannot be overstated.

False reporting of kidnappings can
have various motives, including seeking attention, revenge, or financial gain.

Regardless of the reasons, the
consequences are far-reaching
and detrimental.

Individuals must
understand the gravity of making
false reports and the impact
it has on society.

PROJECT: EMPLOYING TRUSTWORTHY WORKERS

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

Hiring trustworthy cleaners, gardeners, or other service providers for your home is crucial to ensure a safe and reliable environment.

Homeowners have been urged to vet
anyone working on their property as
it is these workers who form the first vital line of defence in the
fight against crime. Remember that building a relationship with trustworthy service providers takes time, and it is essential to be diligent in the hiring process to ensure the safety and security of
your home.

Although thorough vetting might
seem to be a time-consuming effort, many cases of break-ins and house robberies occur as a result of inside information being shared
with criminals.

IT IS THEREFORE CRITICAL TO APPOINT PEOPLE WHOM YOU CAN TRUST WITH YOUR OWN LIFE AND THE LIVES OF YOUR FAMILY.

PROJECT: MISSING PERSON GERT JACOBUS MINNIE

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

Specialised Security Services requests the help of the public to send us information regarding his whereabouts.

Gert Minnie has made himself guilty
of not only misrepresentation but
also defeating the ends of justice, by
disappearing to take full benefit of millions of rands in fraudulent transactions.

It has happened previously and will
undoubtedly occur again when our
organisation is appointed to find a missing person, and we soon realise that this missing
person is responsible for their own
disappearance.

After further investigation,
the causes become clear:
financial, relationship or criminal
activities/dealings.

In this specific case, SSS is convinced that this specific missing person committed
misrepresentation and lied to his entire family, relatives, the public and the authorities and planned his own “escape”.

PROJECT: MISSING PERSON ELIZABETH NGACHASENG MAARMAN

As the popularity of vacation rentals surges, so does the prevalence of scams targeting eager travellers seeking accommodation.

These scams can take various forms,
ranging from fake listings and misrepresented properties to non-existent rentals and phishing schemes.

The allure of picturesque destinations combined with the anonymity afforded by
online transactions creates an ideal breeding ground for deceptive practices.

It is imperative for travellers to exercise caution, conduct thorough research, and employ robust verification measures to ensure that their dream vacation does not turn into a nightmare of financial loss and
disappointment.

Mias Schreuder is one of many holiday scammers operating through a vacation rental advertisement on the Rustenburg Koop en Verkoop’s Facebook page.

PROJECT: SEXUAL GROOMING OF MINORS

WARNING TO

PUBLIC!

Sexual grooming of minors refers to the process by which an adult establishes a relationship with a minor to gain their trust for the purpose of sexual exploitation or abuse.

This often occurs on various social media platforms where communication is facilitated, making it crucial for parents to be aware and take steps to safeguard their children

If you notice any of these signs or have concerns about your child’s online interactions, it’s crucial to maintain open communication. Talk to your child about their online experiences and promptly address any discomfort or suspicion. If you suspect grooming, report it to law enforcement and the platform where the communication occurs.

Do not hesitate to contact Mr Mike Bolhuis if you have any concerns regarding your child’s online interactions.

PROJECT: THE PHYSICAL IMPACT OF EXTENDED SCREEN TIME ON CHILDREN

NOTICE TO

PUBLIC!

Experts in psychology, neuroscience, and education study our senses (sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell, and other less-known ones like balance and body awareness). Their focus is to understand how what we sense shapes our behaviour.

Sensory behavioural implications refer to our senses’ effects on our behaviour. People can react differently to the same sensory experience, leading to a wide variety of behaviours based on individual sensitivities and preferences

New research has again confirmed Specialised Security Services’ continuous plea to parents to control their children’s screen time. The research suggests that young children exposed to prolonged hours of screen time from an early age may develop unusual behaviours related to their senses.

These children might seem uninterested in regular activities, crave more excitement, or are easily upset by things like loud noises or bright colours.

PROJECT: HOLIDAY SCAMMER MIAS SCHREUDER

WARNING TO

PUBLIC!

As the popularity of vacation rentals surges, so does the prevalence of scams targeting eager travellers seeking accommodation.

These scams can take various forms, ranging from fake listings and misrepresented properties to non-existent rentals and phishing schemes. The allure of picturesque destinations combined with the anonymity afforded by online transactions creates an ideal breeding ground for deceptive practices.

It is imperative for travellers to exercise caution, conduct thorough research, and employ robust verification measures to ensure that their dream vacation does not turn into a nightmare of financial loss and disappointment.

Mias Schreuder is one of many holiday scammers operating through a vacation rental advertisement on the Rustenburg Koop en Verkoop’s Facebook page.

“QRishing” or “QR code phishing” is also known as quishing. This involves scammers using QR codes to trick individuals into providing sensitive information or downloading malicious content.

QR codes are a part of daily life for many, as seen on posters, flyers, or restaurant menus. They can be a handy way to quickly access

websites, discounts, or information.

Quishing might sound like a strange word, but it is a serious issue. Scammers create fake QR codes that, when scanned, lead you to malicious websites or prompt you to share personal information
