Mr. Albert Arthur van Eeden is a well-known con artist, master manipulator, and romance scammer.
Skilled in deception, fraudsters like him rely on persuasion, charm, and calculated dishonesty to exploit their victims.
These individuals make a living by swindling unsuspecting people out of their money or assets,
often presenting themselves as trustworthy and credible.
They are habitual offenders, swiftly moving from one target to the next to maximise financial gain
while leaving a trail of emotional and financial devastation in their wake.

THE ARREST:
A concerned member of the public contacted Mr. Mike Bolhuis with information about Mr. Van Eeden after reading our previous project on social media.
She confirmed that Mr. Van Eeden was living in and working at a restaurant in Phalaborwa.
Upon following up with Sergeant Manuel from SAPS Parow, it was confirmed that Mr. Van Eeden was indeed still wanted on SAPS Parow CAS 178/7/2022 and that a warrant for his arrest had been authorised.
The Phalaborwa SAPS was informed, and the details regarding the warrant were shared with them.
SAPS Parow then began making arrangements for Mr. Van Eeden's arrest and for his temporary detention at Phalaborwa SAPS.
In the meantime, Mr. Van Eeden had already engaged in his usual "sweetheart scam" and was involved in a relationship with a woman in Phalaborwa.
Once the woman realised his true identity and criminal history, she ended the engagement and moved to a new address.
There were also allegations of abuse and assault.
The woman had obtained an interim protection order against Mr. Van Eeden owing to fear for her safety.
However, he tracked down her new address and appeared at her residence, prompting her to seek assistance from a security company and the SAPS.
On 25 January 2025, Van Eeden was arrested for violating the interim protection order and was detained at Phalaborwa SAPS.
He made his first court appearance at Phalaborwa Magistrate's Court (Court A) on 27 January 2025.
The case was postponed twice and was set for a bail application hearing on 4 February 2025.
The case was further postponed to 14 February 2025 for the bail application.
