Specialised Security Services is pleased to confirm a significant breakthrough in our ongoing fight against investment fraud. On 12 March 2025, the South African Police Service (SAPS), in collaboration with our cyber investigation team, successfully arrested Mr. Rudolph Johannes Petrus De Meyer, also known as Rudi, at Kids Beach, East London. This arrest marks a crucial step toward justice for the numerous victims allegedly deceived by De Meyer's suspected fraudulent schemes.
Refer to our original project exposing Mr. De Meyer's crimes, dated 15 February 2024:

CASE DETAILS:
Case Number: Kabega Park SAPS CAS 62/12/2023.
Date of Arrest: 12 March 2025.
Place of Arrest: Kids Beach, East London.
Upcoming Court Appearance: 20 March 2025 at Port Elizabeth Court for bail application.
A WEB OF SUSPECTED DECEPTION EXPOSED:
Mr. De Meyer, born 11 February 1980, is suspected of orchestrating elaborate investment scams for months, allegedly luring victims with false promises of lucrative returns.
His operations were reportedly conducted under various business names, including Tree of Finance, Red Hot Industries, and Lazasur.
Our investigation, which started in October 2023, identified at least 26 victims who may have fallen prey to Mr. De Meyer's suspected deceitful tactics.
He reportedly gained their trust through small initial investments, only to later persuade them into larger financial commitments.
When confronted by our cyber team, Mr. De Meyer allegedly admitted to misappropriating funds and assured repayment.
However, he failed to meet the conditions set by SSS, which demanded full transparency and an immediate halt to further questionable activities.
His continued disregard for ethical business practices necessitated the involvement of SAPS, leading to the initiation of criminal proceedings.
SSS extends special gratitude to Warrant Officer Kotze of the Hawks, East London.
His unwavering dedication and steadfast belief in justice were vital to this successful arrest.
This case is a testament to the power of collaboration between SSS and law enforcement agencies in combatting crime.
While this arrest is a victory, we urge the public to remain vigilant against similar scams. Suspected fraudsters operate under various guises, often presenting opportunities that seem too good to be true. If you suspect fraudulent activity or have fallen victim to a scam, please contact Specialised Security Services immediately.
We remain committed to exposing suspected criminals, protecting the public, and seeking justice for victims.
The fight against financial crime continues, and with your support, we will eradicate these deceptive operations.
