Specialised Security Services is increasingly concerned over the alarming rise in cases of missing children and young adults. This troubling trend highlights a deeper societal issue, as many of these individuals are not just abducted but are also choosing to run away from their parental homes. Understanding the reasons behind such decisions is crucial to addressing this crisis. Factors such as family conflict, abuse, neglect, peer pressure, mental health struggles, and the allure of independence in a challenging social environment often play a significant role.
Specialised Security Services aims to not only assist in locating missing persons but also to work towards preventative solutions that strengthen family bonds and provide support systems for at-risk youth. Through awareness campaigns,
collaboration with law enforcement and community outreach, our organisation seeks to create safer environments
where children and young adults feel secure, valued, and understood.
EFFECTIVE INTERVENTION AND CRITICAL PREVENTION CONCERNING VOLUNTARY AND INVOLUNTARY DISAPPEARANCES:
VOLUNTARY DISAPPEARANCES:
FAMILY ISSUES:
Teenagers may run away from home due to unresolved family conflicts, abuse, or neglect.
In these cases, they might feel they have no other option for safety or escape.
MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES:
Depression, anxiety, and other mental health struggles can lead to impulsive decisions, such as running away or disappearing, especially if they feel unsupported or misunderstood.
PEER PRESSURE:
The influence of friends and peers can lead teenagers to make risky decisions, including leaving home to escape perceived social pressures or to fit in with a particular group.
INVOLUNTARY DISAPPEARANCES:
ABDUCTION:
Teenagers may be kidnapped for various reasons, including human trafficking, ransom, or exploitation.
ACCIDENTS OR NATURAL DISASTERS:
Sometimes, teenagers may disappear due to unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, getting lost, or natural disasters.
CRIMINAL ACTIVITY:
Involvement in criminal activities, such as gang membership or illicit behaviour, can lead to a teenager going missing, either voluntarily or through coercion.
ADDRESSING THE ISSUES AND PREVENTING DISAPPEARANCES:
Every case of a missing teenager is unique, and the reasons for their disappearances can be multifaceted. It is important to act quickly if a teenager goes missing, as the longer they remain missing, the higher the chances of them encountering dangerous situations, including exploitation or substance abuse.
STEPS TO TAKE IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT A MISSING TEENAGER:
REPORT TO THE POLICE:
Contact the South African Police Service (SAPS) immediately to file a report.
CONTACT MISSING PERSON'S ORGANISATIONS:
Organisations like Specialised Security Services and Missing Children South Africa can assist in the search and recovery of missing teens.
SPREAD THE WORD:
Share information about the missing teenager through social media platforms and local media outlets to raise awareness and garner support.
SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP:
Consult with mental health professionals to understand the possible causes of the disappearance and to provide support for the teenager’s return.
Please note that in South Africa, there is NO waiting period required to report a missing person.

Matrix sells an amazing u it not relent on car battery. The signal only jumps of another vehicle and that reports the vehicles location. Right now two alarms systems does the trick and when placed in different areas it quite a valuable investment. It's a good practice to install 2 or more systems from different companies. Something to think about.
