PROJECT: PRECIOUS METALS SCAMS - WARNING!

YOU MAY SHARE THIS PUBLIC DOCUMENT

Mr Mike Bolhuis, owner of Specialised Security Services raises a crucial alarm about a rising threat: precious metal scams.

Scammers, operating under the guise of miners from African countries, are cunningly targeting potential victims through social media and cell phone communications.

MODUS OPERANDI 1:

  • The fraudulent scheme begins innocently enough, with scammers approaching individuals and offering lucrative deals on precious metals such as platinum, gold, diamonds, and even cobalt.

  • They pose as legitimate miners or, in some cases, as Zama-Zamas, illegal miners seeking a buyer for their ill-gotten gains.

  • The trap is set when they propose a 50/50 profit split if the victim can find a buyer for the purported precious metals.

  • Once the victim is entangled, the scam takes a sinister turn.

  • The scammers introduce another party, claiming to be the security personnel from the mine who turned a blind eye to the illegal activities.

  • This new character demands payment, and suddenly, the victim finds themselves in a complex situation with money just disappearing.

MODUS OPERANDI 2:

  • The scam unfolds in another devastating way:

  • Victims are lured into a meeting with the promise of inspecting the product.

  • This meeting is strategically set in an isolated location.

  • In this dangerous setting, victims fall prey to robbery, kidnapping, or even murder.

Mr Bolhuis emphasises the importance of public awareness in combating these scams. It is crucial for individuals not to let greed and desperation cloud their judgment.

Do not become part of illegal dealings that can have severe consequences. The allure of quick riches should not blind people to the risks associated with these schemes.

Scammers prey on vulnerability.

Mr Mike Bolhuis issues a stern warning to the public to be vigilant, cautious, and most importantly, to not let the promise of wealth override your sense of judgment.

Report any suspicious activity to the authorities, and remember, it is better to be safe than sorry in the face of these evolving and dangerous scams.
