Andrew Sarel Smith, aged 64, is a man with a questionable track record.
His current residential address is 1 Protea Street, Doringkloof, Centurion.
He owns several companies, including Medical 4 U, Doctor 4 U Managers, Sanitizer 4 U, and Produce 4 U. Recently, he has portrayed himself as a broker dealing in raw materials from Africa to Dubai.
However, beneath this façade lies a pattern of deceit and financial manipulation that has left many victims in its wake.
OUR CASE:
In May 2019, our client was introduced to Smith and was persuaded to invest in a company called BCFS, with the promise of doubling their investment in four years.
On 2 August 2019, the client signed investment documents and transferred R40,000.00 into an account under the name Global Merchant Fina, with Smith promising to add R10,000.00 of his own money.
However, after the money was transferred, Smith became increasingly elusive.
In August 2023, Smith unilaterally extended the investment term to five years without prior notice.
By December 2023, our client contacted BCFS, only to discover that the company had no record of their investment.
Smith then claimed the funds were with another company, Montagu, but failed to attend a meeting to explain the situation.
DECEPTION AND FALSE PROMISES:
Smith’s deceit extends beyond this investment.
He has rebranded an R1.5 million transaction as a loan to avoid fraud charges despite it being a signed investment contract.
Additionally, Smith misused funds meant for building supplies, as he admitted in a WhatsApp message.
He has also cited SARS (South African Revenue Service) as an excuse for not releasing funds from a supposed gold purchase.
His frequent references to legal and financial complications, including a dubious High Court intervention, raise serious doubts about his integrity.
Andrew Sarel Smith’s activities are a stark reminder of the need for caution in financial dealings.
