In mid-July 2024, Specialised Security Services was appointed to administrate the finances of a fundraiser
to assist Mrs Caroline van Rensburg with her rehabilitation process.
As a result, accommodation was arranged for Mrs van Rensburg.
Specialised Security Services was contacted by
Mrs Kathy Scrooby, who requested payment for Mrs van Rensburg's accommodation.
Upon verification that Mrs Van Rensburg booked into “Goldie Oldies Sassa Accommodation”, Specialised Security Services processed a payment of R2790.00, which was allocated as follows:
R650.00 Deposit.
R540.00 Pro-rata payment for July 2024.
R1600.00 Rental for August 2024.
Initially, Mrs van Rensburg appeared to be making positive progress with her rehabilitation, and Mrs Scrooby provided feedback on her progress to Specialised Security Services.

However, on 8 August 2024, Mrs Scrooby contacted Specialised Security Services and expressed her unhappiness, stating that her business was being slandered on social media due to Mrs van Rensburg's presence at her residence.
Mrs Scrooby also stated that Mrs van Rensburg was self-medicating, and that she was a danger to the other residents.
As a result, Mrs Scrooby requested that Mrs van Rensburg seek alternative accommodation at her soonest convenience.
On 21 August 2024, Mrs van Rensburg moved out of the Goldie Oldies Sassa Accommodation residence.
Mrs Scrooby has yet to refund the deposit paid for Mrs van Rensburg’s accommodation with Goldie Oldies Sassa Accommodation.
Because of the social media attention that the case received, many complainants came forward with allegations against Mrs Scrooby of elderly abuse, fraud, assault, mismanagement of funds, official document alteration, theft, neglect and child abuse.
As a result of the allegations and ongoing social media conversations about Mrs Scrooby and Goldie Oldies Sassa Accommodation, Mrs Scrooby contacted Specialised Security Services and requested an investigation into herself to uncover the truth and end the ongoing allegations once and for all.

PENDING INVESTIGATION:
As a direct result of two TikTok content creators who took it upon themselves to expose Mrs Scrooby's dealings by providing a platform for the alleged victims to speak out, Specialised Security Services was contacted by several members of the public who requested an investigation into Mrs Scrooby and Goldie Oldies Sassa Accommodation.
Upon hearing the news of the pending investigation, Mrs Scrooby contacted Specialised Security Services and stated that she was closing her NPC company registration.
She further stated that she is planning to turn her old-age residence into a shelter for the elderly, which will allow her to operate her business under less complicated rules and conditions.
The elderly residents who are currently residing at Mrs. Scrooby's residence recently received assistance with a fundraiser managed by Mr Jakobus Johannes Jansen van Rensburg, who is also being investigated by Specialised Security Services and the SAPS.
Mr. Jansen van Rensburg purchased food and essentials through the fundraisor to the value of R5000 and the items were delivered to the residents.
