Specialised Security Services urges the public to be vigilant against an elaborate investment scam orchestrated by
Destine Asset Management. This scam, which we have dubbed the "RARE Mandela R5 Coins Scam,"
has already ensnared several victims, including one of our clients who lost R3 million.
This project follows in the wake of a suspected fraudulent investment scheme orchestrated by
Destine Asset Management (Pty) Ltd. The scheme lures individuals by promising
investors great wealth and excellent returns.
Thea Smith, a pastor, befriended our client and used her position and trust to attract our client for investment.
She earned commissions for bringing in clients.
THE ALLEGED SCAM:
Our client was instructed to invest in very rare Mandela coin collections, she was assured that her R3,000,000 investment would turn into at least R5 million in a short period and signed documents to that effect.
After more than a year, she has yet to see any return on her investment of R3 million.
The directors of Destine Asset Management, Debra Meyer and Pieter Swartz, have admitted on record that they have invested the money; however, they continue making empty promises to their investors.
Our clients, victimised by what appears to be a deceptive investment opportunity, recounted their experience with Destine Asset Management.
The events involved enticing promises, elusive repayments, and persistent requests for additional investments.

TACTICS USED:
These scammers use various tactics to lure victims:
Religious Manipulation:
Debra Meyer is deceiving others by pretending to be on a holy mission from God and using faith to gain people's trust.
If anyone questions her scam, she uses faith/God as a shield to deflect their concerns.
Thea Smit, a pastor, claims that the investment opportunity is a divine mission, thereby preying on the victims' religious beliefs.
Professional Presentation:
Meetings are held with supposed financial experts to lend credibility to the scam.
False Assurances:
Victims are given numerous confirmations and false promises of repayment to keep them engaged.
