It is unfortunate that corrupt individuals are found in all sectors of life. Specialised Security Services has previously warned the public about the criminal activities of corrupt SAPS and Metro officials, as well as corrupt private investigators.
One such individual is Mr Rodney Van Rensburg of ISS Investigations.
Our organisation has been receiving complaints about him since 2018.
His criminal behaviour and fraudulent dealings have negatively impacted the reputation of the safety and security industry.

MODUS OPERANDI:
Mr Rodney Van Rensburg makes promises to clients to render safety and security services.
He does not have the skills or the capabilities to fulfil these promises.
Despite promising refunds and making excuses, he consistently fails to deliver requested work or to make repayments to clients.
He has defrauded numerous unsuspecting victims who trust him to assist with their cases, making hundreds of thousands of Rands in the process.
In the past week, we received proof of more than 15 disgruntled clients who have not received the promised services or results and/or have been scammed out of deposits and total payments made to Mr Van Rensburg.

When other victims were asked whether they would be willing to sign affidavits against Mr Van Rensburg,
they declined as they were all too scared of him. They did say that they had registered complaints
with PSIRA against Mr Van Rensburg - all of which were dismissed and ignored.
This is concerning as we have empirical evidence that Mr Van Rensburg has committed various crimes
and violated several sections of the PSIRA Act.
It is important to note that not all private investigators in South Africa or elsewhere are corrupt. Private investigators play a legitimate and valuable role in various legal and business activities, such as conducting background checks, surveillance, and fraud investigations.
