Specialised Security Services is elated to confirm that the Wurban Ponzi Scheme owner, Willem Steenkamp, was arrested in Malawi on 17 October 2023. His direct family members, his wife, daughter and associate have also been arrested for their involvement in his crimes. SSS initially exposed the notorious racketeer for his fraudulent activities in South Africa. We exposed him on various previous occasions as a confidence trickster, misrepresentator, thief, fraudster and racketeer. Our insights into his dealings brought him to the attention of the Venezuelan authorities who added him to the Interpol Red Notice Bulletin for his continuous criminal activities in their country as well.
After a joint operation by the Malawian Fiscal & Fraud Police, Interpol National Central Bureau, FIU and Malawi Immigration, "Dr William Bilderberg" was arrested on 17 October 2023. They confirmed that "Dr William Bilderberg" is a pseudonym and that his real name is, in fact, Willie Steenkamp, who is a wanted fugitive on the Interpol Red Notice. Malawi authorities complied and made the arrest as this country is under obligation to arrest in these instances.
MR BOLHUIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE CONTACTED BY THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES TO CONFIRM THE VALIDITY OF THE IDENTITY OF THE PERSON THEY INTENDED TO ARREST. HE WORKED WITH THE MALAWIAN FISCAL AND FRAUD POLICE AS WILLIE STEENKAMP, HIS FAMILY AND ASSOCIATES WERE ARRESTED AND HIS RESIDENCE AND ASSETS WERE CONFISCATED.
CRIMES IN SOUTH AFRICA:
Willem Steenkamp was a financial consultant and the head of an international investment company that promised investors massive returns.
He is renowned for the Wurban scam, which defrauded many innocent victims out of their life savings.
Steenkamp and his partner Jacobus Johannes Christoffel Du Toit disappeared with the investments made, leaving many people in financial ruin.
The Malawian Authorities have requested all relevant information that can help the investigation against Steenkamp and his family. Mr Bolhuis and his organisation, Specialised Security Services, are the direct contact people and close associates in South Africa.
OFFICIAL COURT DOCUMENTS RELATING TO THE CASE IN MALAWI:
Those arrested with Willie Steenkamp (DOB: 1973/09/04) were:
Spouse: Yolanda Magdalene Steenkamp, born 1974/05/22.
Daughter: Chene Engelbrecht, born 1997/03/17.
Associate: Mark Deryck Cromhout, date of birth to be confirmed.
Steenkamp and his family have been arrested on charges of:
Forgery of identity documents, passports and residence permits.
Money laundering.
Fraud.
They will be detained as they are a flight risk.
Further international crimes committed by them will be investigated but will also depend on mutual legal assistance and international cooperation protocols.
"Dr William Bilderberg" entered Malawi on the pretence of being an investor and brought with him $ 20 million through Ecobank.
Mr Mike Bolhuis and his organisation are working closely with the Authorities in Malawi. It is crucial that any new and relevant information is sent to us to share in the prosecution of Steenkamp, his family and associates.
